The Ballia District Basic Education Department has terminated five government primary school teachers for securing jobs through fraudulent means during Uttar Pradesh's 2018 mass teacher recruitment. District Basic Education Officer Manish Singh confirmed the dismissals after a departmental probe found the accused lacked requisite qualifications.
The affected teachers include Gulab Chandra (Sohav Primary School), Dilip Kumar Yadav (Sonadih Composite School), Nivedita Singh (Trikalpur Primary School), Khushboo Prajapati (Nasrathpur Primary School), and Snigdha Srivastava (transferred to Amethi). Official records show they improperly obtained positions in the December 2018 recruitment drive for 69,000 teachers conducted by the Examination Regulatory Authority.
Investigations revealed the dismissed staff submitted forged academic credentials to bypass mandatory eligibility criteria. The department has initiated proceedings to recover salaries paid during their fraudulent employment tenure. This action follows statewide verification drives to identify malpractices in teacher recruitment processes.
