New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Sunday, August 15, accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of coercing Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) employees to attend Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally in Rohini, alleging that sanitation workers were threatened with suspension or dismissal if they did not comply.

Videos Shared by AAP

AAP posted videos on social media claiming that MCD sanitation workers were being pressured to act as a crowd for the rally. In one clip, a speaker alleged, “By issuing a Tughlaqi order, they were told that whoever does not come today will be terminated by the DC, or they will be suspended. This is the kind of open threats and hooliganism that the BJP government in Delhi is doing with our MCD sanitation worker brothers today.”

The video further showed a sanitation worker recounting how he had been called to duty despite personal family commitments, with claims that workers were “kept sitting under pressure” and warned against refusing orders.

AAP captioned the post, “By threatening them with dismissal from their jobs, BJP is taking sanitation workers to PM Modi’s rally.”

Allegations of Manufactured Crowd

In another video shared by AAP, party leaders alleged that MCD employees were being made to fill buses to ensure crowd numbers at the Rohini rally. A voice in the video questioned workers, “Why have you come? Where are you going?” to which one replied, “I don’t know. I have just been called here.”

The video claimed that the BJP was “using government employees to build crowds” because of growing public anger. The speaker said, “There are no workers or public left in Delhi because BJP’s reality has been exposed. They have not done any development work in the last six months. People are angry with them. When BJP realised people would not attend the rally, they began taking municipality workers in buses, even on their only holiday.”

AAP captioned this video, “The BJP government formed through vote theft now has to rely on government employees to build crowds at rallies.”
