Tamil Nadu: One-Year-Old Child Falls From Moving Bus Near Srivilliputhur; Shocking CCTV Footage Surfaces

Virudhunagar (Tamil Nadu): A horrifying incident took place near Srivilliputhur in Tamil Nadu’s Virudhunagar district, where a one-year-old child fell out of a moving vehicle on Friday morning. The child, who was being carried by her mother, reportedly slipped and tumbled out through the front steps when the driver applied sudden brakes near Meenakshipuram junction.

Details On The Shocking Incident

The infant’s family, including her uncle Madhankumar, a resident of Muthuramalingapuram, was travelling in the private bus. The group had been seated near the front entrance, beside the stairway. Around 8:30 am, as the bus approached the Meenakshipuram signal, the driver abruptly hit the brakes. In the sudden jolt, the child slipped from her mother’s arms and fell out through the open front passage, landing directly on the road.

CCTV Footage Shows Exact Moments Of Fall

CCTV footage capturing the moment of the fall has since gone viral, causing widespread concern. Fortunately, the child survived the fall with minor injuries and was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital. She is currently under medical observation.

Another Child Injured In Same Bus

According to a report by Indian Express Tamil, in the same bus, Madhankumar, who was holding his sister’s two-year-old child at the time, also lost balance during the same sudden halt. The child fell inside the bus and sustained bruises. Madhankumar himself suffered injuries while trying to shield the toddler during the fall. Both are currently recovering in the hospital.

While no serious injuries were reported, the incident has once again highlighted the dangers of sitting near open or unsecured areas inside buses. As of now, there are no confirmed reports of any action being taken against the bus driver. Authorities are yet to announce whether an inquiry or inspection will be carried out.
