Bikaner, Rajasthan: Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a blistering speech in Bikaner on Thursday, May 22, issuing a stern warning to Pakistan over its continued support of terrorism. In his first public rally since India’s precision strikes under Operation Sindoor, PM Modi claimed Pakistan’s key airbase at Rahim Yar Khan remains incapacitated and vowed that every drop of Indian blood spilled would be avenged.
During the address, PM Modi referred to the cross-border missile strikes carried out earlier this month, in retaliation to the killing of 26 individuals in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam on April 22. The Indian Air Force (IAF) reportedly targeted terror camps and multiple airbases in Pakistan, inflicting what the Prime Minister described as “massive damage”.
Here are 10 of PM Modi’s most striking remarks from the Bikaner rally:
1."Pakistan's army and economy will have to pay for every terror attack... Pakistan tried to attack Bikaner's Nal Airport, but they could not cause any damage. Pakistan's Rahim Yar Khan air base is just across the border; nobody knows when it will function again. It is in the ICU. Indian army's attack has destroyed it... There will be neither trade nor talks with Pakistan. There will only be talks on PoK... Pakistan will not get India's water... They will have to pay for playing with India's blood. This is India's resolution and no power of the world can shake us from this resolution.”
2. "On 22nd April, terrorists targeted our people, asking their religion and wiped the sindoor of our sisters. The bullets fired in Pahalgam wounded the hearts of 140 crore Indians. In response, the entire nation vowed to punish the terrorists in a way they could never imagine."
3. "If Pakistan continues to export terrorists... then it will have to struggle for every penny. Pakistan will not get India's rightful share of water. Playing with the blood of Indians... will now cost Pakistan heavily. This is India's resolve and no power in the world can shake us from this resolve."
4. “Today, with your blessings and the valour of the country's army, we have all lived up to that pledge. Our government gave a free hand to all three forces... Together, the three forces created such a Chakravyuh that Pakistan was forced to kneel down. In response to the attack on the 22nd, we destroyed 9 of the biggest hideouts of terrorists in 22 minutes. The world and the enemies of the country have also seen what happens when sindoor turns into gunpowder.”
5. "With the valour of our armed forces, Pakistan was forced to bow. In reply to the 22nd April attack, within just 22 minutes, terrorist camps were destroyed. The country witnessed that when the sindoor of our sisters is targeted, the response can shake the enemy to its core."
6. "Operation Sindoor has set three principles to combat terrorism. First - If there is a terrorist attack on India... then a befitting reply will be given. The time will be decided by our forces... the method will also be decided by our forces... and the conditions will also be ours. Second: India is not going to be scared by the threats of atom bomb. Third: We will not see the masters of terror and the government that patronizes terror as separate... we will consider them as one. Pakistan's game of state and non-state actors will no longer work."
7. "This isn't a game of research and revenge, it's a new form of justice. This is a new form of justice, this is Operation Sindoor. This is not just anger, this is the fierce form of entire India, this is the new form of India. First he attacked by entering the house, now he has attacked directly on the chest."
8. "After the airstrike, I came to Churu and said, 'I swear on this soil, I will not let my country be destroyed, I will not let my country bow down'. Today, from the soil of Rajasthan, I want to tell the countrymen, 'Those who had set out to wipe off the vermilion have been reduced to dust'."
9. "Now India has made it clear: Pakistan will have to pay a heavy price for every terrorist attack. And this price, will be paid by Pakistan's army, will be paid by Pakistan's economy."
10. "Pakistan has forgotten one thing that now Modi, the servant of Mother India, is standing here with his head held high. Modi's mind is cool, it stays cool, but Modi's blood is hot. Now there is no blood flowing in Modi's veins, but hot vermillion."
