Panic gripped the residents of Vivek Vihar area of Delhi's Shahdara on Friday night after the body of a woman was found inside a bed box in a house.

New Delhi: Panic gripped the residents of Vivek Vihar area of Delhi's Shahdara on Friday night after the body of a woman was found inside a bed box in a house. The police detained the owner of the house, Vivekanand Mishra, for questioning. The deceased was in her late 40s.
Cops are are trying to find out the identity of the woman. Vivek Vihar police station received a call about odour coming from a DDA flat in the area.

"We received a call at 4.37 that a foul smell was coming out of a house. The number of the house is 118 A, Satyam Enclave. Jhilmil Colony. These are DDA flats in Vivek Vihar," Shahdara Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Neha Yadav told ANI.
DCP Neha Yadav's Statement:
The police officer added that an intact dead body of a woman was found in the house inside a bag, which was wrapped with a blanket. The bag was inside a box, and there was an incense stick on it," DCP Yadav said.
She appeared to have been killed two to three days ago, a senior police officer said as reported by PTI. During the initial investigation, it was reportedly found that Mishra visited the flat on Thursday night and Friday afternoon.
Forensic teams inspected the crime scene. A detailed investigation has been launched into the matter.
