Kolkata: West Bengal Medical Council on Saturday had sent a letter to the Principal of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital seeking details about a protesting doctor Kinjal Nanda.
According to sources, the Medical Council wanted to know about the leave details of Nanda, also about the amount of stipend he withdraws as PGT and also whether he has taken a NOC from the college authorities working in advertisements and movies.
Talking to the media, Nanda said that this was expected.
“When we had started our protests over RG Kar rape and murder incident, we knew it will have a counter repercussion. I am not at all shocked that the Council has asked for the details. They have every right to check my details. I also give income tax every year and they can check my return files. After duty hours I can do anything, I am not answerable. The council so far didn’t take any actions against anyone we had complained about,” said Nanda.
