Rajasthan Job Rush: Over 24.76 Lakh Apply For 53,749 Class IV Posts, Breaking State Record For Govt Recruitment
The aspiration for a government job in Rajasthan is such that a record number of applications have come for even class IV employs recruitment being conducted by Rajasthan Subordinate and Ministerial Staff Selection Board (RSMSSB).

Jaipur: The aspiration for a government job in Rajasthan is such that a record number of applications have come for even class IV employs recruitment being conducted by Rajasthan Subordinate and Ministerial Staff Selection Board (RSMSSB).
Saturday was the last date for applications and the final count of the applications according to RSMSSB is, 2476383 for a total of 53,749 posts, which means 46 candidates will fight for one post of class IV employee. With such a huge number of applications, this will be the biggest government recruitment in Rajasthan so far.
Earlier, 22 lakh candidates had applied for Forester-Forest Guard Recruitment-2021. The RSMSSB has proposed September 19 to 21, 2025 for this recruitment examination and the proposed date of result is January 21, 2026.
The minimum educational qualification for this recruitment is just matriculation with basic knowledge of computers but according to RSSB sources, thousands of graduates, post graduates have applied to become a class IV employee in state government.
Not only this, the number of applicants for just 500 posts of bus conductor was, 63808 until Saturday evening, and it is expected to reach 8–10 lakh until the last date April 25, 2025. This recruitment is being conducted by RSMSSB as well.
Notably, the number of applicants for government recruitments is increasing in the state and the average applicants for the last 8–9 recruitments are around 15 lakh.
The experts attribute this as an aspiration to become a government employee irrespective of any class. The Director of Social Policy Research Institute of Jaipur, Manish Tiwari said, "one can look it as the state of unemployment in the state but for me, it is an aspiration to become a government employee at any cost and irrespective of any class as everyone wants a secured 9-5 job. We are somehow failed to find the right man for the right job."
