Rajasthan Govt Announces ₹25 Crore ‘Suposhan Nutri Kit’ Scheme For 2.35 Lakh Pregnant Women; Includes Desi Ghee, Makhana, Dates
The pregnant women registered with Anganvadi centers in Rajasthan will get 3.1 kg of 'Suposhan Nutri Kit' to fulfill their nutritional requirements during pregnancy. The Nutri Kit includes Desi Ghee, Makhana, Dates and other items.

Jaipur: The pregnant women registered with Anganvadi centers in Rajasthan will get 3.1 kg of 'Suposhan Nutri Kit' to fulfill their nutritional requirements during pregnancy. The Nutri Kit includes Desi Ghee, Makhana, Dates and other items.
The scheme was announced in this year's budget by the state government who plans to spend Rs 25 crore on the scheme. The Women and Child Development Department has prepared this Nutri Kit based on UNICEF guidelines.
The Kit includes one kg of Desi Ghee, five hundred grams of Dates, Makhana or other dry fruits, Jaggery and roasted Gram and Peanuts.
Director of Integrated Child Development Services OP Bunkar said, “the Nutri Kit has been prepared as per the UNICEF guidelines and has all the proteins, vitamins, and essential nutrients necessary for the pregnant women. It will not only improve their health but will also help in the physical and mental development of the child. "
These kits will be provided to the pregnant women registered with the Anganwadi centers of the state. The beneficiaries will get two Nutri Kits during the pregnancy. The first kit will be given after four months of pregnancy and the second in the 9th month.

The officials said that a total of 2.35 lakh women will be benefited on the first come first served formula in the first phase of the scheme and the number is likely to increase in the subsequent phases.
