Rajasthan: Earthenware Maker With ₹1 Lakh Income Receives Income Tax Notice For ₹10.61 Crore Transaction |

Jaipur: A wake-up call kind of an incident has come to light regarding misuse of Aadhaar and PAN number details in Bundi, Rajasthan where the family of Vishnu Prajapat, an earthenware maker is in a state of shock these days. Vishnu whose annual income is less than Rs One lakh has been served a show cause notice by the Income Tax department regarding a transaction of Rs 10. 61 crore.

Resident of a small village Jhaliji Ka Barana in Bundi district, Vishnu barely supports his family by making earthen pots, but he has been told that a diamond and gold trading company is being run in Mumbai using his PAN card. GST evasion and income tax worth crores is pending on this company.

“ I hardly earn Rs One lakh every year and has never gone to Mumbai. I didn't know how they got my Aadhaar and PAN number details. When I contacted a Chartered Accountant regarding this notice he dug out the details and told that a company is being run using my Aadhar and PAN card details," said Vishnu adding that forget about crores, he has not even seen lakh rupees.

Vishnu has lodged a complaint in cyber crime police station regarding this in which he has stated that unknown person has misused his Aadhaar and PAN card and formed a company named Bhumika Trading in Girgaon, Mumbai on 19 March 2020. Along with this, GST registration of a sole proprietorship firm was also done with his documents. The cyber police have registered an FIR on this complaint.
