Raincoat Gang Robs Laxmi Nagar House In Delhi, Escapes With ₹50 Lakh Cash And Jewellery - Video

NEW DELHI: The notorious "raincoat gang" targeted a house in Delhi's Laxmi Nagar in the early hours of Saturday and stole cash and jewellery worth Rs 50 lakh. The entire theft was captured on CCTV cameras.

The incident occurred on 9th August at approximately 4:30 AM when several raincoat-clad thieves infiltrated a residential building. The CCTV footage reveals the gang's sophisticated modus operandi, showing members covering their faces with cloth to conceal their identities whilst systematically executing their plan.

The thieves demonstrated professional criminal behaviour by first switching off the building's electricity to avoid detection. In a calculated move to prevent interference, they locked the doors of neighbouring flats from outside, effectively trapping residents and ensuring no one could interrupt their operation.

Taking advantage of an unoccupied flat, the gang ransacked cupboards and safes, making away with gold and silver jewellery, cash, and other valuable items. The stolen goods are estimated to be worth Rs 50 lakh.

Delhi Police have launched an intensive investigation immediately after receiving the complaint. A special team has been constituted specifically to track down the raincoat gang, with officers conducting raids at potential hideouts across the city. Investigators are analysing CCTV footage to identify the perpetrators.

The raincoat gang has earned its distinctive name from their signature method of wearing raincoats to disguise their appearance. Their well-planned strategies and professional execution clearly distinguish them from ordinary thieves, marking them as an organised criminal outfit that poses a significant threat to residential security in the capital.
