Police Find 'Concrete Evidence' Against YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra: Report

After three months of investigation, a 2,500-page charge sheet has been filed against YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra, who was arrested for allegedly spying for Pakistan.

Investigators have reportedly found concrete evidence against the 33-year-old, proving she was spying for Pakistan, according to a report citing the charge sheet.

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Hisar Police has stated in the charge sheet that Malhotra had been spying for an extended period. It also mentions her links with Ehsan-ur-Rahim alias Danish, a member of the Pakistan High Commission, and ISI agents Shakir, Hasan Ali, and Nasir Dhillon.

Danish was declared persona non grata following the Pahalgam terrorist attack and was expelled by the Government of India and was asked to leave within 24 hours for allegedly leaking sensitive information regarding the movements of the Indian Army after the April 22 attack.

The charge sheet also reveals that Malhotra travelled to Pakistan on April 17, 2024, and returned to India on May 15.

Earlier, an RTI response confirmed that Malhotra had previously been hired by the Kerala Tourism Department to promote the state as part of its official digital outreach.

Her YouTube channel, 'Travel with Jo,' has over four lakh subscribers. A video showing her speaking to Maryam Nawaz, the daughter of former Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, at a Gurudwara in Punjab (Pakistan) had also surfaced earlier.

She is currently lodged in jail and has been booked under provisions of the Official Secrets Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

Earlier, the police said no evidence had emerged to indicate Malhotra had access to any military- or defence-related information but said that she was in contact with some individuals despite being aware that they were Pakistani Intelligence Operatives.
