PM Narendra Modi & US President Donald Trump Likely To Meet In Kuala Lumpur On Sidelines Of ASEAN Summit - Reports
US President Donald Trump and Prime Minster Narendra Modi will reportedly be meeting in n Kuala Lumpur during the ASEAN Summit. PM Modi and President Trump may meet on the sidelines of the ASEAN Summit, which is slated to be take place later this month.

New Delhi: US President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi are reportedly likely to meet in Kuala Lumpur during the 47th ASEAN Summit. The two leaders may hold talks on the sidelines of the Summit, which is scheduled to take place later this month.
This will be their first meeting since the Trump administration imposed a 50% tariff on Indian goods. Prime Minister Modi and President Trump last met in February during PM Modi's visit to the United States.
PM Modi is scheduled to visit Malaysia for the ASEAN Summit on October 26–27. Malaysia has also extended an invitation to President Trump to attend the summit. The POTUS is yet to confirm his participation in the summit.
India-US ties have strained since the impostion of the 50 per cent tariffs on Indian goods. The rift has widened further with Trump targeting India over its energy ties with Russia, particularly its imports of Russian crude.
Trump Reshares Modi's Post
Trump has reshared PM Modi's post extending support to his new plan to end the Gaza conflict. The US President took to his Truth Social platform and reshared PM Modi's message.

ASEN Summit
The ASEAN Summit is a policy-making body of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), a regional organisation comprising of ten countries. It is held two times a year to address important issues, provide policy guidance, and make decisions on matters of regional importance. The most recent summit, the 46th ASEAN Summit took place in May 2025.
