PM Modi To Be Guest Of Honour At Maldives' 60th Independence Day; Will Meet PM Keir Starmer In UK Amid Two-Nation Visit | ANI

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a high-profile two-nation visit this week, with stops in the United Kingdom and the Maldives.

The visit, from July 23 to 26, will include crucial bilateral meetings and a ceremonial honour in Male, where PM Modi will be the Guest of Honour at the Maldives’ 60th Independence Day celebrations.

UK Leg: Strategic Talks with PM Starmer, Meeting with King Charles

PM Modi will visit the UK from 23 to 24 July at the invitation of British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, marking his fourth official visit to the country. He is expected to hold wide-ranging discussions with his UK counterpart on all aspects of the India-UK bilateral relationship, including trade, defence, innovation, climate, education, and health.

The two sides will review progress under the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, with a renewed focus on economic cooperation and people-to-people ties. Prime Minister Modi is also expected to meet King Charles III during his visit.

Maldives Leg: Strengthening Maritime Ties and Celebrating 60 Years of Independence

On July 25-26, PM Modi will undertake a State Visit to the Maldives at the invitation of President Dr Mohamed Muizzu. This marks his third visit to the island nation, and the first such visit by any Head of State or Government during President Muizzu’s tenure.

Highlighting the significance of the relationship, PM Modi will be the Guest of Honour at the Maldives’ 60th Independence Day celebrations on July 26. The visit will also include bilateral talks with President Muizzu, during which the leaders will review the ongoing implementation of the India-Maldives Joint Vision for a Comprehensive Economic and Maritime Security Partnership.
