'Neither Appropriate Nor Mature': Shashi Tharoor Requests BJP To Remove 'Don't Mess With Us!' Post On X

New Delhi: Amid ongoing escalating tension between India and Pakistan, the BJP's official X handle on Friday night posted a video on micro-blogging website X. The video lists out incidents of terrorist attack in India and the people killed in it during the Congress-led UPA regime. The video also states after the attacks the government indulged in peace talks with Pakistan and did not retaliate or take any action.

The video starts with a photo of a woman crying in pain, with a red color bold text which reads,"2005 Delhi blasts,62+dead." The video then shows former PM Manmohan Singh's picture with a text which reads, "Peace talks in 2006." The video then shows the figures of 2006 Mumbai train blasts, "2006 Mumbai train blasts, 209+ dead."

The video then shows former PM Manmohan Singh with Yusuf Raza Gilani, former Pakistan PM, with a text which reads, "Peace talks in 2007." The video then shows a picture of 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, with a text, "166+dead."

The video then shows Singh's picture with a text, "No retaliation, No lesson taught." The video then shows images from attacks that took palce in India in 2010, 2011 and 2013, with the same text, "Peace talks."

The video then shows, PM Modi's picture with "Aarambh hai prachand" song playing in the background. The text then chages to, "No more talks, no more peace with a terror-supporting nation."

Then, a visual from Operation Sindoor is played with the text, "He's on a mission, to send every terrorist to hell."

The video is posted with a caption, "The message to the enemies is loud and clear. 𝐃𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐦𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐮𝐬! Unlike the UPA regime’s passivity, New India has no patience for futile peace talks."

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, has responded sharply to the post. Saying, it is a "petty attempt to divide us politically." The Congress leader called the post an "advertisement" and said it is "neither appropriate nor mature." He also urged the party to delete the post.

"At a time when the nation stands united as Indians, this petty attempt to divide us politically is deplorable. Our government has learned the futility of past approaches the hard way -- after inviting Pakistan to participate in the investigation of the Pathankot blasts in 2016. It is only then that it took to the path of military action, carefully calibrated and maturely conducted. This advertisement is neither appropriate nor mature. Delete it, please, @BJP4India Jai Hind."
