Surat: In the era of social media, people can go to any extent just to become famous and to get some likes. Several incidents have surfaced in recent times, where youngsters put their lives in danger to gain a few followers on social media. In one such incident, a stunt went wrong after a luxury SUV got stuck in swampy sand at Dumas beach in Gujarat's Surat.
The incident was recorded on camera, and soon its video went viral on social media. In the video, a blue-coloured Mercedes-Benz could be seen stuck in the sand at the lake. The video shows that two youths are trying to get the high-end vehicle out of the sand, but in vain.

The incident took place after he youths took their car to the banned area in Dumas Beach. According to reports, there are restrictions going to that area due to safety and environmental concerns.
However, the youths managed to slip into the restricted area despite regular police patrols. The vehicle was parked close to the waterline, and when the tide rose and later receded, the car got stuck in the marshy sand, reported Indian Today, citing local reports. Due to this reason, it became difficult to get the car out of the sand without any external assistance.

"For the marvellous display of intelligence, the Mercedes company should give an award to the driver," one of the X users wrote on X.
"Brain wasn’t braining looks like," An Instagram user wrote.
A Surat businessman was reportedly detained by the Dumas police. According to a report by The Times of India, the businessman was booked for rash and negligent driving on a public way.
A detailed investigation has been launched into the matter.
