Manipur: In an unfortunate incident, Union Minister Rajkumar Ranjan Singh's house was set on fire in Manipur's Imphal. The incident took place on Thursday late night. Earlier this week, State minister and BJP leader Nemcha Kipgen's house was also set on fire by miscreants.
Speaking to news agency ANI, Singh shared details on the incident. He stated that the miscreants attacked his house and hurled petrol bombs. He also informed that no one was fortunately injured in the incident, while his house faced some damages.
Singh said, "I am currently in Kerala for official work. Thankfully, nobody got injured last night at my Imphal home. The miscreants came with petrol bombs and damage has been done to the ground floor and first floor of my home."
Appealing for peace in the northeastern state, he said, "It is very sad to see what is happening in my home state . I will still continue to appeal for peace. Those indulging in this kind of violence are absolutely inhuman."
BJP Minister Nemcha Kipgen's House Was Set On Fire Earlier
An unruly crowd on Wednesday burnt down the house of Manipur's only woman minister. According to reports, BJP minister Nemcha Kipgen's house was set on fire by a mob on Wednesday evening. Fortunately, nobody from the minister's house was at home when the violent crowd set the house on fire.
Fresh violence broke out in Manipur on Wednesday and at least nine people were killed and over 25 people injured after militants opened an attack in Khamelock village in Imphal East district. The armed militants fired indiscriminately at the villagers, police said on Wednesday.
