Kota: 16-Year-Old JEE Aspirant Hangs Self, Fourth ‘Suicide’ By Coaching Student Since January

Despite Friday dinners of collectors and efforts by the administration, the nightmare of suicides of coaching students continues in the coaching hub Kota as one more JEE aspirant committed suicide on Monday night in the city. This is the fourth case of suicide by coaching students in Kota.

The police said that a student from Chhattisgarh committed suicide by hanging himself just after the release of the final answer key of the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Mains on Monday night. The student was preparing for JEE by staying in Kota for two years.

Reason of suicide not yet known

The deceased Shubhkumar Chaudhary (16) was living in a hostel in the Mahavir Nagar Pratham area. DSP Bhavani Singh said that Shubhkumar was a student of class 12. The result of the exam was declared on Monday morning and when his parents called, there was no response so they called the warden and as the warden opened the door, the student was found hanging from the fan.

Police officials said that the student had also studied class 11 from Kota. The reason for suicide has not been revealed yet. It was not even known how many marks he had got.

Suicides by students this year

- On February 2, Noor Mohammad (27), a resident of the Gonda district of UP, committed suicide. Noor Mohammed was doing B. Tech from a Chennai College while staying in Kota. He was taking online classes.

- On January 31, Niharika (18), living in Borkheda, Kota, had committed suicide. She was preparing for JEE. She had written in the suicide note – 'Mummy, Papa, I could not do JEE, that is why I am committing suicide. I'm a loser, I'm not a good daughter. Sorry Mom and Dad, this is the last option.

- On January 24, Mohammad Zaid (19), a resident of Moradabad, UP, committed suicide. He was living in a hostel in the New Rajiv Gandhi Nagar area of ​​the Jawahar Nagar police station area and was preparing for NEET.
