Belagavi: In a shocking incident, a 30-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death over a demand for an extra piece of chicken at a wedding party in Karnataka's Belagavi district on Sunday, July 13. The victim has been identified as Vinod Malashetti, a resident of Yaragatti taluka.
Malashetti had attended a wedding celebration hosted by his friend Abhishek Koppad at his farm, reported NDTV. Koppad had recently gotten married. The incident took place when the victim complained about getting a small piece of chicken and demanded more chicken from Vittal Harugopp, reported the media house.
An argument broke out between the two. As the matter escalated, Harugopp stabbed Malashetti with a knife used for cutting onions in a fit of anger. Due to excessive bleeding, the victim died on the spot.

After receiving the information, the police reached the crime scene. A case has been registered in the matter. It is not clear whether the accused was arrested. A detailed investigation has been launched into the matter.
In a similar incidnet which took place last month, a birthday celebration among young men took a tragic turn on Vasai, as a minor dispute escalated into a violent brawl, leaving one 20-year-old dead and two others injured. The incident occurred in an open area within the Papdi Industrial Estate in Vasai West.
The victims and the accused, all employees of an industrial company, were gathered for a birthday party on Sunday evening. The group was consuming alcohol when, around 8:30 pm, a minor argument broke out among them. The verbal spat quickly intensified.
