Karnataka Hit-And-Run: Woman Dies After Being Hit By Speeding Car On Expressway In Chitradurga, Horrifying Visuals Surface

Chitradurga: In a tragic incident, a speeding car hit a woman when she was crossing a road in Karnataka's Chitradurga on Sunday night. According to reports, the woman was crossing an expressway when she was hit by the car. The woman died on the spot. The entire incident was recorded on CCTV and the video surfaced online.

In the 30-second clip, it could be seen that the victim was crossing the expressway with other people, including two children and when she reached the second lane, the speeding car hit her.

The driver did not slow down the car and managed to flee. Due to the impact, the woman was flung in the air. Meanwhile, other people escaped narrowly. Another man stopped to check on the woman. She reportedly died of a head injury. Another vehicle stopped on the highway after seeing the woman lying unconscious.

As per a report by a Republic, the deceased has been identified as Ananthamma and was a resident of K. Rayapura village in Kudligi taluk. She was reportedly working at a coffee estate with her family in Sakleshpur for the past 10 years.

The accident took place when the woman was travelling to her native village for Shivaratri celebrations.

A case has been registered in the matter. The police launched an investigation. Cops are trying to identify the car.
