Mohali: A scientist lost his life after he was allegedly assaulted by his neighbour during a dispute over parking in Punjab's Mohali on Tuesday. The scientist, Abhishek Swarnkar, worked at the prestigious Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER). The incident took place in Mohali's Sector 67.
According to reports, Swarnkar had undergone a kidney transplant recently and he was on dialysis. He was a native of Jharkhand's Dhanbad. The entire incident was recorded on camera and the video went viral on social media.

Dr Swarnkar's sister had donated him one of her kidneys. In the CCTV footage, it could be seen that the scientist's neighbour, Monty, pushed him to the ground during the heated argument, reported NDTV
In the CCTV footage, it could be seen that some locals, including Monty, were standing near his bike. An argument broke out when Dr Swarnkar was removing his two-wheeler. Monty allegedly pushed Dr Swarnkar to the ground and started hitting him. The scientist was rushed to a hospital. However, he could not survive.
Some people pushed Monty away. The scientist's family demanded strict action against the accused. A case has been registered against Monty. A detailed investigation has been launched into the matter.
