Haryana Accident Video: Learner Driver 'Mistakenly' Rams Car Into 5 Sitting By Roadside In Kaithal; 2 Seriously Injured

Kaithal (Haryana): A shocking incident took place on Saturday afternoon in Cheeka Grain Market of Haryana's Kaithal when a young man learning to drive lost control of a car and rammed into five men seated on chairs outside a shop. The entire incident, captured on CCTV, lasted barely five seconds but caused major chaos and injuries.

The speeding car struck three men who fell on the spot, while two others were dragged along by the vehicle. The car even carried one man on the bonnet while the other was being pulled underneath.

Details On The Mishap

The mishap occurred at around 2:50 pm when the five victims, who work as accountants in the grain market, were sitting outside a shop. A white car suddenly came speeding towards them, breaking chairs and scattering the men. Bystanders immediately rushed to the scene and stopped the car. They also held the two young occupants of the vehicle and provided initial assistance to the injured men.

The victims were quickly transported to Cheeka's government hospital for treatment. Two of them sustained serious injuries, while the remaining three managed to get up on their own after the collision, as reported by Dainik Bhaskar.

Driver Was Learning, Pressed Accelerator Instead Of Brake

According to reports citing eyewitnesses, the driver was practicing driving within the market premises when the accident occurred. Reportedly, the learner mistakenly pressed the accelerator instead of the brake, causing the car to ram uncontrollably into the seated group. Despite his attempts to regain control, the car struck all five men and dragged two before coming to a halt.

Police were informed about the incident and the captured CCTV footage has been submitted as evidence. Further information on legal action taken against the youth involved in the crash is awaited.
