EC Demands Evidence From Arvind Kejriwal On 'Yamuna Poisoning' Claims Against Haryana Govt By 8 PM On Jan 29
AAP National Convener Arvind Kejriwal asked to substantiate with facts his serious and grave allegations of poisoning of Yamuna River and mass genocide.

New Delhi, January 28: In a major development, Election Commission of India (ECI) on Tuesday issued notice against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal over his allegations against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in Haryana. Arvind Kejriwal alleged that the Haryana Government is poisoning Yamuna river.
Arvind Kejriwal alleged, "The country has never seen such dirty politics till date. If the people of Delhi are not voting for BJP, will you kill the people of Delhi by giving them water mixed with poison? The BJP government there is mixing poison in the water coming from Haryana. I want to tell the people of Delhi that as long as Kejriwal is there, I will not let any harm come to the people of Delhi. BJP people, don't stoop so low."
As per reports from ANI, AAP National Convener Arvind Kejriwal asked to substantiate with facts his serious and grave allegations of poisoning of Yamuna River and mass genocide. ECI Cites various judicial pronouncements and legal provisions that can lead to up to three years imprisonment for mischievous statements against national integration and public harmony.
The Commission noted that such allegations have serious ramifications of creating enmity between the regional groups, and residents of the neighbouring States, threat of a law-and-order situation due to actual or perceived shortage or non-availability of water, during this time of the year.
The Commission has directed Kejriwal to furnish his response to the complaints, especially on the factual and legal matrix along with evidentiary support thereof by 8 pm on 29th January, 2025 so as to enable the Commission to examine the matter and take action as appropriate
