New Delhi: Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Friday released another video on his X handle and reiterated "vote chori (theft)" claims. In the video, the Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition (LoP) again alleged that the Election Commission of India and the BJP had conspired to steal votes.

"Vote theft is not just an electoral scam; it is a major betrayal committed against the Constitution and democracy. Desh ke gunegaar sun lo, waqt badlega, saza jaroor milegi (Let the nation's culprits hear this - times will change, punishment will surely be meted out)," the Congress MP wrote in his X post along with the video.

Gandhi said that he understood the election process deeply.

In his video, Gandhi claimed that votes were stolen in Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, apart from Maharashtra, Haryana and Karnataka, which were highlighted earlier.

"I remember, we lost the elections in Uttarakhand. Later, I asked the candidate where the roadshow was held, go there and see how many votes we got. Thousands of people came. No one voted in the polling booth. This was impossible. This cannot happen," the Congress MP said.

"After that, the results of Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. We felt something was going wrong. In 2018, Madhya Pradesh elections were held. We win, but our government was robbed. Elections were held in 2023. I saw during Baharat Jodo Yatra. Terrible anti-incumbency. And we get 65 seats. Impossible. This cannot happen. And then, Maharashtra. For the first time, we got proof in Maharashtra. Between Vidhan Sabha and Lok Sabha, new voters come magically. And wherever these new voters voted, the BJP got the vote," Gandhi added.

The Lok Sabha LoP said that the Election Commission is not giving his party the digital data of voters.

"Ladies and gentlemen, the truth is that in India, the Election Commission and the BJP together are stealing the elections," Gandhi said. He further alleged that the EC brought Special Intensive Revision (SIR) after his party exposed the poll body.

"This SIR is an institutionalised theft. The Election Commission openly, without fear, together with the BJP, is stealing. And the aim of this SIR is to steal the votes of the poor," he stated.

Rahul Gandhi Held Press Conference On Thursday:

On Thursday, Gandhi, in a scathing press conference, accused the Election Commission of India (ECI) of large-scale electoral fraud to benefit the BJP in the assembly elections in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Haryana.

Karnataka CEO's Response:

After Gandhi's press conference, Karnataka's Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of responded in strongly worded letter asking him to sign an affidavit detail his allegations made on the addition and deletion of electors.

"It is understood that during a Press Conference held today, you had mentioned about the inclusion of ineligible electors and exclusion of eligible electors in the Electoral Rolls cited at Para 3. You are kindly requested to sign and return the enclosed Declaration/Oath under Rule 20(3)(b) of the Registration of Electors Rules, 1960, along with the name(s) of such elector(s) so that necessary proceedings can be initiated..." the letter stated.

BJP's Reaction:

The BJP on Thursday accused Rahul Gandhi of insulting the people of the country by calling the party's election victory a "fraud" and said the voters will continue to reject the Congress for such "irresponsible and shameless" character and conduct.

The ruling party said that Gandhi has made allegations against the Election Commission out of "frustration and anger" because people are not giving their mandate to the Congress.

This came after Gandhi claimed before the media here that an analysis of the voter data pertaining to a Lok Sabha constituency in Karnataka showed that elections were rigged by the Election Commission at the behest of the BJP to help the saffron party "steal" votes and win the seat in 2024 general elections.

There is a huge "criminal fraud" being perpetrated across the country by the Election Commission and the "party in power", the Congress leader charged, in an apparent reference to the BJP.

Lashing out at the Congress leader for his remarks, BJP MP and former Union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said, "Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition, has made irresponsible and shameless comments."

the BJP leader said that Gandhi had crossed all limits of "shamelessness".

"Narendra Modiji has been winning elections since 2015, and you (Rahul Gandhi) are calling that also a fraud. You are insulting the people of the country who voted for Modiji for his work, honesty and progress of the country under his leadership," Prasad told reporters at the Parliament House complex.
