A biker reportedly died after a tree fell on him in the Kalkaji area amid heavy rains. Delhi and its adjoining areas again witnessed heavy rains on Thursday.

New Delhi: Delhi and its adjoining areas again witnessed heavy rains on Thursday, throwing normal life out of gear. Amid continuous rainfall in the national capital territory (NCT), A biker reportedly died after a tree fell on him in the Kalkaji area.
As the tree uprooted and fell on the biker, authorities rushed to the spot after receiving the information. A rescue operation was launched .

However, he could not survive. Several vehicles were also damaged in the incident. Many other people also reportedly sustained injuries.
Heavy rains brought Delhi-NCR to a standstill as waterlogging and long traffic jams were reported in several area.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an 'orange' alert, warning of more rain during the day.
A road was also blocked in Sector 9 of RK Puram after a tree fell.
During the 24-hour period which ended at 8.30 am on Thursday, Delhi's primary weather station at Safdarjung recorded 13.1 mm of rainfall, Aya Nagar logged 57.4 mm, Palam 49.4 mm, Lodhi Road 12 mm, Pragati Maidan 9 mm, and Pusa 5 mm, according to the IMD.
The rain brought down the minimum temperature in Delhi to 23.6 degrees Celsius, 3.2 notches below normal. The maximum temperature is expected to settle around 32 degrees Celsius, the IMD said.
Cars passing through the Dhaula Kuan-Gurugram road were partially submerged, and those travelling on motorcycles and scooters were forced to get down of their vehicles and push them through the flooded section.
Waterlogging was also reported from Subroto Park and Outer Ring Road, Dwarka Sector 20, Basai Road in Gurugram, and parts of Ghaziabad and Noida.
