If I claim that I paid PM Modi ₹1,000 cr, will you arrest him: Arvind Kejriwal's scathing attack after CBI summons

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday alleged that the probe agencies Enforcement Directorate and Central Bureau of Investigation is torturing people to testify against him and former deputy CM Manish Sisodia.

Kejriwal held a press conference over CBI summons to him in scam probe.

Probe agencies lied to courts

He said, "The probe agencies alleged that Manish Sisodia to hide trail destroyed 14 phones. They in seizure report claimed had in total 5 phones and the other phones are being used by party workers etc. The CBI and ED tried to frame Sisodia and also lied to the court."

"Every day they arrest someone. The arrestees are tortured, mentally as well, meted out third degree treatment and are told name me and others in the case," he alleged.

Scathing attack at PM Modi

Launching a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he asked, "If I, without proof, claim that I paid Prime Minister Narendra Modi Rs 1,000 crore on September 17 at 7 pm, will you arrest him?"

The AAP chief also announced that he will be suing the agencies for perjury and falsifying evidence.

Says agencies have no evidence against them despite extensive probe

CM Kejriwal further said that in spite of carrying out probe for nearly a year and making scores of arrest, including Sisodia, the agencies have not found a single penny of the wealth amassed from the alleged liquor scam.

"When the agencies founf no trace of ill earned money, they claimed it was used in Goa election campaign of the party. Where is the proof? All the payments were made with cheques. Show evidence of Rs 100 crore you claim we got," he said.

Kejriwal summoned by CBI

CBI has summoned the AAP leader on Sunday as part of its probe into suspected irregularities in the formulation and implementation of the Delhi Excise Policy (2021-22), is likely to verify from him if he had any knowledge of, or association with, a policy ingredient under the scanner – the escalation of the wholesale profit margin to 12 per cent, from 5 per cent.
