Cyclone Biparjoy: Western Railway Cancels 67 Trains, Including Mumbai-Originating Services; Check List

In response to the alertness for the 'BIPARJOY' cyclone in Gujarat, the Western Railway has taken proactive measures to ensure the safety and security of train passengers in cyclone-prone areas. As a precautionary step, the railway authorities have announced the cancellation of 67 trains, including several trains originating from Mumbai.

An official from the Western Railway emphasized that the decision to cancel these train services was taken as a precautionary measure to prevent any untoward incidents during the anticipated impact of the cyclone. The safety of passengers remains the top priority for the railway authorities.

Passengers who have booked tickets for the affected trains are advised to reschedule or cancel their travel plans accordingly. Refunds will be provided as per the railway's refund rules. The Western Railway is closely monitoring the situation and will take appropriate action based on the cyclone's progress and safety assessments in the affected areas. The railway officials remain committed to ensuring the well-being and security of their passengers during this challenging period.

Travelers in the cyclone-prone areas are urged to follow the safety guidelines issued by local authorities and stay indoors until the cyclone threat subsides.

Ashok Kumar Misra, General Manager, Western Railway, Mumbai said, "We are continuously monitoring cyclone 'Biparjoy'. We have established a disaster control room at our headquarters and also deployed ADRMs at Bhuj, Gandhidam, Porbandar and Okha. Today, some trains have been cancelled due to increased wind speed in Porbandar. All trains going to coastal areas in Gujarat will be cancelled from tomorrow."
