Mumbai: The COVID-19 virus has reemerged after a period of absence, leading to widespread panic among individuals and prompting discussions about reinstating masks, quarantine measures, health protocols, and other precautions. Even though the figures surged past 7500 cases a few weeks prior, the trend has been declining since last week.
As of June 23, 2025, the COVID-19 situation in India shows 4,425 active cases in different states/UTs, with 20,947 individuals cured/discharged/migrated and 664 fatalities since January 1, 2025:
Andhra Pradesh: 34 current cases, 250 recovered, 5 fatalities.
Delhi: 435 current cases, 3,130 recovered, 140 fatalities.
Karnataka: 251 current cases, 2,123 recovered, 46 fatalities.
Kerala: 840 current cases, 6,809 recovered, 211 fatalities.
Maharashtra: 298 current cases, 2,007 recovered, 45 fatalities.
West Bengal: 747 current cases, pending more information.
Significant changes since yesterday include a rise in active cases in Delhi (17) and West Bengal (1 death), whereas Kerala experienced a substantial increase in recoveries (211). No additional fatalities were recorded in multiple states, such as Arunachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, and others. In general, the data indicates persistent management difficulties in specific states, while some areas show stability or improvement.
