Controversy Erupts After Muslim Man Offers Namaz At Tirumala Temple Complex; TTD Vigilance Launches Probe (VIDEO)

Tirupati: A religious controversy erupted after a Muslim man was seen offering Namaz near the premises of the sacred Tirumala temple complex in Andhra Pradesh on Thursday. The incident triggered protests in the area. The man offered namaz within the premises of the Tirumala Kalyana Mandapam. The incident was caught on camera and its video soon went viral.

In the video, a man wearing a Hazrat cap could be seen offering Namaz at the Purohit Sangham area. After the video went viral, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) vigilance team launched an investigation to identify the man, reported Deccan Herald.

The man, who is reported to be a driver. He had accompanied a group of Hindu pilgrims to the temple, reported the media house citing sources. According to reports, the man offered namaz for almost 10 minutes.

The man had reportedly asked for permission from a local person whether he could offer namaz near the temple complex. He offered namaz only after getting permission from the local person, who later filmed him, a source told Deccan Herald.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) condemned the incident.

The police have started a probe into the matter. Efforts are on to identify the accused.
