Agra: Two Muslim youth have taken up the Kanwar Yatra from Uttar Pradesh's Firozabad. Sajid and Sunny told the media that they carried kanwars on their shoulders for the Hindu-Muslim harmony. Both are residents of Bah town of Agra district. The video was shared by PTI.

They carried the holy water from Badaun's Kachla ghat. While speaking to news agency PTI, Sunny said that he and his friends left for the Kachla Ghat on Monday, July 7. The group is carrying 125 litres of Gangaljal, weighing 151 litres, to Bateshwar. They are expected to reach Bateshwar by July 14.

"We don't associate with people who divide the masses. For us, brotherhood should continue. We don't believe in division on the basis of religion and caste. We only believe in brotherhood," Sunny told PTI.

"I am feeling good. What is a big deal if I, as a Muslim, carried Kanwar? Our several Hindu friends visit mosques with us for namaz," Sajid told the news agency.

Operation Sindoor Kanwar:

Meanwhile, , a unique Kanwar from Meerut’s Sadar Bazar is also making headlins as it sends a powerful message of communal harmony and national unity. Muslim youths are joining hands with local resident Gaurav to construct a grand Kanwar under the banner of ‘Operation Sindoor’.

The “Operation Sindoor” Kanwar is expected to draw widespread attention across Meerut and neighbouring districts.Gaurav, who is spearheading the initiative, said he, along with 20 companions, will begin their journey to Haridwar on July 15. They plan to collect Gangajal on July 16 and return to Meerut.
