Raipur: In response to the rising crime rate, Durg police have decided to take an innovative approach by creating a comprehensive database of beggars in the district.
According to a recent directive, the database will include detailed profiles of beggars, capturing information about their origin, residence, and the circumstances that led them to beg. The primary goal of this database is to monitor their activities and prevent people from falling into a life of begging.
A key objective of creating this database is to identify individuals with criminal backgrounds who may be disguising themselves as beggars. This initiative aims to curb the surge in criminal activities in the district, which has seen a sudden increase in recent times.
The letter from the SP to the police station and outpost in-charges emphasizes the importance of verifying the records of beggars as part of efforts to reduce begging in the district.
