Chhattisgarh Deputy CM Arun Sao Slams Congress Over Poll Failures, Internal Conflict
He remarked that the Congress appears to be adopting the Chhattisgarh Congress model at the national level, which is strange considering the state unit’s consistent losses in assembly, Lok Sabha, urban body, and panchayat elections. He suggested that if such a failing model is followed nationally, it spells trouble for the party’s future.

Raipur: Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao took a sharp dig at the Congress party, saying that their political campaigns and nationwide "yatras" (marches) are backfiring and negatively impacting their election performance.
Commenting on the internal rift within the Congress, Sao said that their leaders are more focused on pulling each other down than addressing the party’s steady decline. According to him, this infighting is one of the main reasons the public voted them out of power. Despite the defeat, he said, Congress leaders continue to blame and compete with each other, ignoring the bigger issues facing their party.
On the recent tragic incident in Fort, where a young girl was murdered, the Deputy CM accused Congress of politicizing the matter. He expressed grief over the incident and said that the government is treating the case seriously. The police are actively investigating, and the administration is committed to ensuring justice.
Regarding the Bharat Mala case, Sao explained that most of the irregularities are related to land and revenue matters, and relevant districts have been instructed to investigate. He confirmed that the Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) will handle the investigation going forward, and anyone found guilty will face strict action.
He also addressed concerns about drinking water in the state. Sao assured that the government is taking the issue seriously and that the Public Health Engineering Department is working diligently to ensure water supply in rural areas. Urban local bodies have also been instructed to resolve water-related issues promptly.
