Chennai Weather News: IMD Issues Light To Moderate Rainfall Till July 24; Check Forecast

Chennai: Tamil Nadu's capital city is known as the Gateway to South India, and usually experiences hot and humid weather conditions during the summer and early monsoon months. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted light to moderate rainfall in several districts of Tamil Nadu till July 24, 2025.

On Monday, the capital city woke up at 05: 50 AM and the sun is likely to set at 6: 39 PM. Today, the minimum and maximum temperatures are likely to be around 28 degrees Celsius and 34 degrees Celsius, respectively. The humidity is expected to be around 81 per cent.

The Regional Meteorological Department (RMC) has predicted rainfall to continue over Tamil Nadu. Other parts of the state will experience light rainfall, and it is likely to be accompanied by thunderstorms. The city may experience gusty winds on Monday. Chennai is likely to experience light to moderate rainfall.

Meanwhile, rainfall is also predicted in districts, including Western Ghats, Puducherry, Karaikal, Nilgiris, Tenkasi, Dindigul, Coimbatore, Tirunelveli, Theni, Kancheepuram, Chengalpattu, Ariyalur, Perambalur, and Tiruppur until the weekend. The skies are expected to be cloudy, and it will remain the same throughout the day.
