CBI Arrests Jammu Patwari Red-Handed Accepting ₹40,000 Bribe For Land Records
A case was registered against the said accused on a complaint. The complainant had applied for issuance of Fard through designated online portal.

Central Bureau of Investigation, has arrested a Patwari, Sudh Mahadev, Tehsil Chenani, District Udhampur, UT of J&K, while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs.50,000/- from the complainant.
A case was registered against the said accused on a complaint. The complainant had applied for issuance of Fard through designated online portal. It was alleged that two applications of the complainant were deliberately rejected by said Patwari without any valid reason. Further, the complainant allegedly met with accused Patwari, who demanded a bribe of Rs.50,000/- (Rupees Fifty Thousand only) from the complainant for processing and issuing the Fard. After negotiation, accused agreed to reduce the bribe amount to Rs.40,000/- (Rupees Forty Thousand only).

Subsequently, the accused was arrested by CBI and search was conducted at the residential premises of the accused.
The accused was produced before the Hon'ble Court of Special Judge, Anti- Corruption (CBI Cases), Jammu on 27.04.2025 and the Ld. Court remanded the accused to Judicial Custody for 14 days.
