Patna: Sparks start flying between NDA and RJD-led opposition in poll-bound Bihar after both India and Pakistan announced ceasefire following over three days of conflict as BJP and JD (U) assailed RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav for demanding a special session of the parliament on the entire matter.
After the ceasefire was announced on Saturday, Tejashwi asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to convene a special session of the parliament and provide date-wise and point-wise information, starting from Pahalgam terror attack to the ceasefire.
“I request the Prime Minister to convene a special session of the Parliament and give date-wise and point-wise information from the Pahalgam terror attack to the ceasefire and take the country into confidence. With it, all Indians through the Parliament in one voice will express their gratitude to the bravery, courage and valour of the Indian armed forces and express their views on various aspects and a common message from the whole of India will go to 'Aantakistan', a nation which runs a laboratory of terror.”

On the other hand, Congress put up a poster with the photograph of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi at a prominent roundabout in the state capital on Sunday, extolling her for the victory of India in its war with Pakistan in 1971 and creation of Bangladesh. The poster, which mentions "Har Koi Indira Gandhi Nahi Ho Sakta" is seen as an attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi for agreeing to the ceasefire.
Underplaying the demand of Tejashwi for convening the special session of the parliament, state BJP president Dilip Jaiswal said that the next session of the parliament would be held soon and so there was no need for convening a special session.
“He (Tejashwi) is saying that we should express our gratitude to the armed forces and, so all other parties are also saying the same thing,” he added.
On the violation of the ceasefire by Pakistan, the BJP leader said that it was a matter of investigation whether it happened due to lack of coordination between the Army and the government. Pakistan has a long history of the Army dislodging the elected governments and staging a coup to grab power, he added.
Union Minister and BJP MP from Begusarai Giriraj Singh said, "Entire country is proud of the valour of the Indian armed forces... Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the armed forces have made the country proud. We proudly say that we are Indians. Some people are speaking against the country at this time. The country never accepts them."
JD (U) leader and MLC Neeraj Kumar said that Tejashwi should not be desperate in a bid to take credit on the issue. All political parties and 140 crore people are together at this hour, he added.
