Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the nation at around 8 PM today, according to reports. This will be the first occasion when the PM addresses the nation regarding Operation Sindoor, amid demands from opposition parties for a special Parliament session to discuss the Pahalgam terror attack, Operation Sindoor, and the ceasefire.
Earlier today, Indian Armed Forces held a joint media briefing on Monday regarding Operation Sindoor, detailing India's coordinated military strikes on terror infrastructure in Pakistan and PoK.
Dismissing the rumours circulating online and in international media, Air Marshal AK Bharti clarified that Indian forces did not strike Pakistan’s alleged nuclear storage site at Kirana Hills during Operation Sindoor.
Clarifying the objectives of Operation Sindoor, Air Marshal Bharti said India’s military response was strictly directed at terrorist networks and their operational hubs. “We reiterated that our fight was with terrorists and their support infrastructure and not with the Pakistan military. However, it is a pity that the Pakistan military chose to intervene and bat for the terrorists, which compelled us to respond in kind," he said.
Amid cross-border firing between India and Pakistan, the Opposition questioned PM Modi's absence from all-party meetings convened by the government.
Expressing disappointment over the PM's absence, Independent Rajya Sabha MP Kapil Sibal urged the Opposition not to attend all-party meetings until the government assures them that the Prime Minister will also be present
