Bengaluru: Teen Secretly Records Obscene Videos Of Woman & Posts Them On Instagram As 'Bangalore Night Life'; Arrested

Bengaluru: A 19-year-old was arrested in Karnataka's capital, Bengaluru, for allegedly secretly filming and uploading videos of women on Instagram. The accused has been identified as Dilavar Hussain MD. He ran an account named 'Dilbar Jaani-67' and tagged the videos as part of ‘Bangalore Night Life’, reported India Today.

The accused is a resident of Byrathi in Kothanur. He originally hails from Manipur. As per the police, Hussain works as a food delivery agent. The Ashok Nagar Police found the content on the Instagram account to be obscene and registered a suo motu case, reported the media house.

The complaint was filed by Sub-Inspector Nabi Saab of Ashok Nagar Police. Most of the videos were reportedly filmed secretly from behind. As per the police, these videos showed women walking on busy market areas, including MG Road, Brigade Road and Koramangala.

An FIR has been registered in the matter under Section 67 of the Information Technology Act. The FIR stated that Hussain uploaded these videos to gain followers.

As per the India Today reports, Hussain confessed to the police of filming 14 such videos. Notably, Instagram has been requested to take down these videos. The accused is yet to be produced before the court.

It second such incident in Bengaluru. On July 10, a 26-year-old man accused of operating an Instagram account that uploaded non-consensual videos of women walking in Bengaluru’s public spaces was detained by police. The arrest came after a viral Instagram post by a young woman who alleged she had been secretly filmed and subjected to harassment online.
