Speaking to media in Thiruvananthapuram on Thursday, Tharoor said, “I have been working in the Congress for the past 16 years. Congress leader and Thiruvananthapuram MP Shashi Tharoor, who led the all-party delegation to the United States and other nations as part of the Centre’s diplomatic outreach to highlight India’s stance on terrorism following Operation Sindoor, has voiced his displeasure over being left out of the Nilambur by-election campaign.
Speaking to reporters in Thiruvananthapuram on Thursday, Tharoor said, “I have been working in the Congress for the past 16 years. I have some differences of opinion with the party, and I will discuss them internally... Today, I don’t want to speak about it. I need to meet and talk—let the time come, and I will discuss it.”

He clarified that his discussion with Prime Minister Narendra Modi was solely regarding matters related to the MPs’ delegation.
“The discussion with the PM was only about matters concerning the MPs’ delegation. When an issue arises for the nation, it is our responsibility to stand with the nation. Whenever the country needs my service, I am always ready,” the Congress MP said.
Speaking on the ongoing war between Iran and Israel, Tharoor remarked, “Iran has been a neighbour and a friend for a very long time. Israel has also been a partner and a friend for many years now. I believe that we would like to see peace between the two countries. But at this stage, the matter is not in our hands, and all we can do is observe with attention and concern.”
Shashi Tharoor is at odds with party leadership after he praised PM Modi on foreign soil while leading the all-party delegation.
