AIMIM chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi has issued a video message to Muslims across the country, urging them to wear black armbands during Friday prayers as a protest against the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam.
In a social media post on Thursday, the Hyderabad MP stated, "My appeal regarding the Pahalgam terror attack: When you go to offer Namaz-e-Jumma tomorrow, please wear a black armband. Through this, we will send a message that we Indians will not allow foreign powers to weaken India's peace and unity."
Owaisi further added, "This attack has given anti-social elements an opportunity to target our Kashmiri brothers. I appeal to all Indians not to fall into the enemy's trap."
Earlier, Owaisi had called upon Muslims in his parliamentary constituency of Hyderabad to participate in large numbers in protests against the Pahalgam terror attack to send a strong message against terrorism.

While condemning the attack, Owaisi also raised serious questions about security lapses: "A place where there were so many tourists, there was not even one police personnel, or a CRPF camp. The Quick Reaction Team (QRT) took over an hour to reach the spot. And these people shot people after asking about their faith. They came from Pakistan, and Pakistan supports them. How did they cross the border? Who is responsible for it? They could also reach Srinagar if they reached Pahalgam... Justice would only prevail when accountability is fixed... We condemn the terror attack..."
Notably, earlier this month, FIR was registered against 300 individuals and they were fined with Rs. 2 lakh for wearing black armbands during prayers in Moradabad.
