Yeh Hai Mohabbatein actor Chaitanya Choudhry has officially changed his name to Dhruv Choudhry. Sharing the news on Instagram, he called it "a beautiful unfolding" and said the name felt like home. Dismissing astrology or career motives, he explained, "I internally started addressing myself as Dhruv… that’s when I gave it a serious thought to change my name."

He wrote, There comes a moment in every life when the winds change direction, when the soul whispers a new name, not to erase the past, but to honour the journey ahead. In a time of quiet reflection—between the echoes of yesterday and the promises of tomorrow—I found a name waiting for me."

Further, explaining his decision behind his name change, he revealed that it was not for any astrological reason or to boost his career, as several celebrities often change their names for such purposes. Speaking to Etimes, the actor revealed that the name Dhruv came to him spontaneously from his deep subconscious, constantly appearing in front of him in various situations and scenarios over time
The Yeh Hai Mohabbatein actor added, "Thinking it to be a sign from a higher place, I internally started addressing myself as Dhruv and i could see some very positive things happening with me, that’s when I gave it a serious thought to change my name. This name is not as per astrology but yes I did get it checked numerology wise with dear friend of mine who is an expert, and luckily there was not much to change. The name change is not for a career boost, it just felt right."
Furthermore, he mentioned that the name Dhruv, inspired by the Pole Star, symbolises steadiness and direction.
On the work front, the actor was last seen in Sukhee, where he played the role of Shilpa Shetty's husband.
