'Won't Call Her Friend': Gaurav Khanna Admits To Having 'Altercations' With Rupali Ganguly On Anupamaa Sets
Actor Gaurav Khanna, who was last seen in the daily soap, Anupamaa, shared that he does not call Rupali Ganguly his "friend". He also admitted to having altercations with her on the sets of Anupamaa. "I would suggest a scene to be done in a certain way and she would suggest otherwise, but she is a phenomenal actor," he stated.

Actor Gaurav Khanna, who is currently basking in the victory of Celebrity Masterchef, became a household name with his character, Anuj Kapadia, in the popular daily soap, Anupamaa. Reacting to reports of not being on good terms with his co-star Rupali Ganguly on the show, the actor revealed that there were times when they did have "altercations".
Gaurav appeared on Siddharth Kannan's podcast, wherein he opened up about his on-set and off-set equation with Rupali. "Altercations hote the scenes ko leke because everyone comes with their own idea, and I respect that, because she, being a senior actor, carries the show on her shoulders. She's the face on the poster -- she is Anupamaa. So if I insist that scenes be done according to me, that would be wrong; and I’ve never done that. Altercations would happen because I would suggest a scene to be done in a particular way and she would want it in a different way," he clarified.
The host then asked Gaurav if he was friends with Rupali and other members of the Anupamaa team. To that, he replied, "I won't call her a friend. Rupali is a wonderful human being from whom I've learnt a lot. A friend is someone whom you can call anytime and share everything, but I am not on those terms with anyone, be it Rupali, or even Sudhanshu for that matter."

He added that over the years, he has only made two friends on the sets of his shows -- Hussain Kuwajerwala and Vivaan Bathena -- and he met both of them during Kumkum.
While Gaurav's character, Anuj Kapadia, is currently not a part of Anupamaa, he stated that it is "not a fullstop but a comma", hinting that he might return to the show if need be.
