Bollywood superstar Salman Khan’s latest film Tiger 3 minted Rs 44.5 crore on its first day at the box office. The film has become the biggest opener for Khan after the 2019 film Bharat which earned Rs 42.30 crore. Tiger 3 also stars Katrina Kaif and Emraan Hashmi plays the main antagonist.
As per reports, the film witnessed maximum footfall at screenings in Mumbai, followed by Delhi NCR, Pune, and Bengaluru.
Tiger 3 has received a phenomenal response from the audiences with thousands of tickets sold already for its first day thanks to advance bookings. The film’s first-day numbers are a result of the Diwali holiday and the fact that it was released on Sunday.
Sanjeev Kumar Bijli, Executive Director, PVR INOX Limited told PTI, “Considering the huge fan following of Salman Khan across the country, and with its dubbed versions in Tamil and Telugu, the movie has been able to attract audience attention beyond the Hindi belt.”
The excitement was also around Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan, and Hrithik Roshan’s Kabir (WAR) making a cameo in the film.
Helmed by Maneesh Sharma, the film is the third installment in the Tiger franchise after Ek Tha Tiger and Tiger Zinda Hai.
Tiger 3 also stars Katrina Kaif and Emraan Hashmi as the ruthless antagonist. The film shows Salman reprising his role as Tiger, a R&AW Agent, and Katrina as Zoya. Tiger is trying to save his family and the country from an enemy (Emraan Hashmi) trying to take personal revenge for his family's loss.
