Amid ongoing controversy surrounding Deepika Padukone's reported exit from Sandeep Reddy Vanga's upcoming film, Spirit, actress Tamannaah Bhatia has subtly voiced her support for the Fighter star, that too without saying a word.
On Wednesday (May 28), fans noticed that Tamannaah liked a thought-provoking Instagram reel highlighting the challenges women face in professional spaces. The video, which has been gaining traction online, includes a throwback clip from a 2020 Chhapaak press conference where Deepika confidently shuts down a reporter's assumption that her husband, actor Ranveer Singh, had funded her film.
In the clip, the reporter implies that Ranveer backed the film financially. Deepika, visibly surprised, responds, "Excuse me, yeh mere khud ke paise hain. Kisne bola yeh? (Who said this to you? This is my money.) Excuse me, it is my own money."

The text on the reel read, "Propaganda she (Deepika) is not falling for: Disrespect, men, sexism, gender pay gap, working overtime, unprofessionalism, misogyny, and double standards."
Tamannaah liking the reel appears to be a subtle yet powerful gesture of solidarity, especially at a time when Deepika is facing backlash over alleged 'unprofessional behaviour' linked to her exit from Spirit. Reports claim that disagreements over pay and scheduling led to Deepika parting ways with the project, though nothing has been officially confirmed.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Tamannaah was last seen in the Telugu film Odela 2, which also starred Hebah Patel, Vasishta N. Simha in lead roles. She also made a special appearance in the song Nasha from Raid 2, which features Ajay Devgn, Vaani Kapoor, and Riteish Deshmukh in key roles.
Next, Tamannaah has the folk thriller VVAN: Force of the Forrest with Sidharth Malhotra in the lead, which is officially set to hit theatres on May 15, 2026. VVAN will be helmed by Arunabh Kumar and Deepak Mishra, known for the popular web series Panchayat.
