After over a month of wait, the first song from the upcoming film, Param Sundari, was released by the makers on Wednesday. Titled Pardesiya, the song brings Sonu Nigam's soothing voice back to mainstream Bollywood cinema after quite some time, and while netizens praised it, some also felt that it sounded way too similar to the iconic song, Kehna Hi Kya.

Pardesiya, featuring Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor, gives the audience a glimpse of the sizzling, yet playful chemistry, between the lead pair, and it was enough to get fans excited for Param Sundari. The song in Sonu's voice came as a breath of fresh air at a time when almost every other song is sung by Arijit Singh, and netizens too felt that it was a welcome break.

However, some pointed out how Pardesiya reminded them of Kehna Hi Kya, which featured in the 1994 film, Bombay. It was composed by the music maestro, AR Rahman, and sung by KS Chithra.

"Is it just me or this song sounds a tiny bit slower version of 'Kehna hi kya' (sic)," a user commented, while another wrote, "Is it like yeh Haseen vadiyaan and kehna hi kya mix? (sic)."

Meanwhile, Param Sundari is all set to hit the silver screens on August 29. The film was earlier supposed to release in July, however, it got pushed reportedly due to the mammoth success of Saiyaara.

Param Sundari is a cross-cultural love story, and while Sidharth will be seen playing a happy-go-lucky North Indian Param, Janhvi will essay the role of South beauty, Sundari. The film marks the first time that the two will be seen sharing the screen, and it has been directed by Tushar Jalota.
