Actor Sooraj Pancholi is all set to make his comeback to films after four years with Kesari Veer, which also features Suniel Shetty, Vivek Oberoi, and Akanksha Sharma in lead roles. Last seen in the 2021 film Time to Dance, Sooraj got emotional at the trailer launch as he spoke about his return and expressed heartfelt gratitude to the film's cast.

At the trailer launch event in Mumbai, Sooraj was heard saying, "This is a very special film to all of us. Thank you, Kanu (Chauhan), for giving me the chance. Thank you, Akanksha..." As he continued to speak, he couldn't hold back his emotions. His eyes welled up with tears, and he fell silent. Suniel, who was standing beside him, comforted him.

When asked why he was absent from the big screens for four years, Sooraj said, "Life. Many things I had to clear from my life. Everyone knows about it (Jiah Khan's case). There's nothing more hiding behind it. My mother (Zarina Wahab) says good things take time. I was waiting for the right film, and I don't think I could have ever gotten a better film than this to let me say a comeback."

Sooraj was at the center of a high-profile case following the tragic death of actress Jiah Khan, who died by suicide on June 3, 2013, in her Juhu, Mumbai apartment. Based on a six-page suicide note that revealed her troubled relationship with Sooraj, the actor was arrested on charges of abetment to suicide.

He was granted bail after spending 22 days in jail. A decade later, in 2023, a special CBI court in Mumbai acquitted Pancholi due to a "lack of evidence" in the case.
