'So Much Hate...': Harshvardhan Rane Hits Back At Pakistani Co-Star Mawra Hocane After She Called His Exit From Sanam Teri Kasam 2 As 'PR Strategy'
On Saturday, Harshvardhan Rane slammed his Pakistani co-star Mawra Hocane for calling his exit from Sanam Teri Kasam 2 a 'PR strategy.' He accused her of spreading hate and making personal remarks, saying, "I never attacked her dignity as a woman." Rane added, "I have zero tolerance for any attack on my nation’s dignity."

Bollywood actor Harshvardhan Rane recently announced that he would step down from Sanam Teri Kasam 2 amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan. His decision followed 'derogatory' remarks made by his Pakistani co-star, Mawra Hocane, who referred to India as 'coward' after Operation Sindoor. In response, Mawra accused Rane of using his exit as a 'PR strategy,' calling it 'shameful and bizarre,' and criticised him for being 'so hungry and desperate' to think about his next film during such times.
Harshvardhan did not hold back and hit back at Mawra's remarks. Taking to his Instagram story on Saturday, the actor mentioned how he did not attack her dignity as a woman, while she had hate in her speech and made personal remarks against him. He wrote, "That sounded like an attempt at personal attack. Fortunately, I have tolerance to overlook such attempts - but have zero tolerance for any attack on my nation's dignity."
He added, "An Indian farmer would pluck out the unwanted weed from his crop its called WEEDING, the farmer doesnt need a PR team for this act, its called common sense. I simply offered to step down from Part 2."

Rane furthermore stated that he is fully within his rights to choose not to work with individuals who label India's actions as 'cowardly.'
"So much hate in her speech, so many personal remarks, I never mentioned her name or resorted to calling her names. Didn't attack her dignity as a woman. I intend to maintain that standard," shared Harshvardhan.
What Mawra Hocane said:
In a long post on her social media account, Mawra wrote, "I don't know whether to call this unfortunate, sad or comical. someone I expected to have basic common sense has risen from deep slumber with a PR strategy. Look around you, look at what's going on!!! We could all hear explosions, children in my country died due to an unjustified cowardly attack, innocent lives are lost and after multiple attempts to still maintain grace and peace, a befitting response by my armed forces have caused frenzy in your country last night. While our nations are at war, this is what you come up with.. a PR statement to get attention??? What a pity!"
She further added that making such announcements during a volatile time is both shameful and bizarre, calling it desperate and hungry behaviour. Mawra shared that if using her name after nine years and discarding all respect is what's getting Harshvardhan the headlines, then he might be surrounded by the wrong team.
