Shubhangi Atre's Ex-Husband Piyush Poorey Passes Away 2 Months After Divorce, Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai Actress Mourns
Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai actress Shubhangi Atre's former husband, Piyush Poorey, passed away on Friday (April 18), two months after the couple parted ways after being married for 22 years. Piyush reportedly succumbed to liver cirrhosis. While Shubhangi is mourning the loss, she has reportedly resumed shooting. The two got divorced in February this year.

Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai actress Shubhangi Atre's former husband, Piyush Poorey, passed away on Friday (April 18), two months after the couple parted ways after being married for 22 years. Piyush reportedly succumbed to liver cirrhosis.
According to a report in Times of India, Shubhangi was shocked at the news of Piyush's demise, and though she has resumed shoot of her show, she is mourning the loss of her daughter's father and has sought time and space.
"Your thoughtfulness during this time means a great deal to me. I request you to give me some time to talk about this," she reportedly said.
The actress resumed the shoot of Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai on Sunday.

Shubhangi and Piyush tied the knot in a traditional ceremony in 2003, and they also have a daughter named Ashi.
But in March 2025, fans of Shubhangi were in for a shock after the actress revealed that Piyush and her had parted ways after 22 years of marriage and they were officially granted divorce in February 2025.
Revealing the reason behind the divorce later, Shubhangi told Bombay Times, "It was painful. I was fully invested in the relationship. Over time, Piyush and I developed irreconcilable differences. However, now that I’m out of that marriage, I feel a sense of peace, as if a heavy burden has been lifted. I want to focus on my daughter and provide her with a happy and secure environment."
Meanwhile, Shubhangi is currently a part of the cult sitcom Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai. She came on board the show in 2016 and has been essaying the role of Angoori Bhabhi, which was earlier played by Shilpa Shinde. The show also stars Rohitashv Gour, Aasif Sheikh, Vidisha Srivastava, and others in key roles.
