Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain writer Manoj Santoshi passed away on March 23, 2025, in Hyderabad, Telangana, after a long battle with liver cancer. Shilpa Shinde, who played Angoori in the show, took care of him in his final days. Her co-star Aasif Sheikh praised her for her dedication, revealing that Shinde, who lived in a huge farmhouse, left everything behind and stayed with Manoj at the hospital for two months.
Aasif stated that Shilpa has a golden heart and that she left everything, including her home and comfort. "I went to the hospital for 2 days, and I have seen her—she used to sit outside the ICU (where Manoj Santoshi was kept). She used to go eat food from the hospital canteen and used to roam around in auto rickshaws and her aim was to revive Manoj anyhow," he told Zoom.
Further, he revealed that when Manoj passed away, Shilpa cried bitterly, and he consoled her, telling her not to hold herself responsible for his demise. Aasif shared that during the two months she spent in the hospital, Shilpa had left her own home behind.
He added, "She drove a Mercedes, she left everything and I told her that 'You'd left everything and roaming in an auto.' She humbly replied, 'No, it is the love for him."
In fact, Shilpa also told Manoj that she was helping him so he could get well soon, not out of any greed or expectation to work with him in the future.
Days after Manoj's death, Shilpa accused the hospital and the doctors of negligence in handling Manoj's health. The actress told Zoom, "They were doing his dialysis to show me, but I could clearly see that he is no more. It is a case of negligence and theft, and I'm its living proof!"
