Actress Mahhi Vij lashed out at online portals and trolls on Wednesday after reports of her divorce with actor Jay Bhanushali surfaced online. She slammed trolls for sharing false claims and information just for the sake of views.

Mahhi took to her Instagram handle on Wednesday and penned a cryptic note on her stories. "Some channels and insta pages have lost dignity n humanity. Just for few likes n comments. Shame on you (sic)," she wrote.

Mahhi opens up on separation rumours

For those unversed, reports that Mahhi and Jay were already separated and were co-parenting their kids have been doing the rounds for quite some time now. While the two kept mum on the matter, Mahhi finally ended her silence during a chat with Hauterrfly and said, "Even if there is a separation, why should I tell you? Are you my uncle? Will you pay my lawyer's fees or help me get a divorce?"

She also slammed people for passing their judgements on Jay and her equation without even knowing them on a personal level. "People just wait for something ugly to happen so they can say, 'Now things will get ugly and now they'll start throwing mud at each other.' But I just feel - live and let live," she stated.

Jay and Mahhi's marriage

Jay and Mahhi tied the knot in 2011 in a grand ceremony and they were blessed with their first child in 2019 -- a daughter whom they named Tara.

The couple had conceived Tara via IVF, and Mahhi had also revealed how she was advised by people to not speak openly about her IVF procedure. "But why not? I, being a celebrity, and being open about it, it’s not that we can’t have a child...it’s just that it was not working... it’s our child…we made an embryo and that is coming inside me. It’s our baby. It’s not like it’s someone else’s baby or someone else’s sperm," she shared.

In 2017, the couple adopted their caretaker's kids, Khushi and Rajveer.
