'Samay Raina Is Mentally Sick': Comedian SLAMMED For Joking About 2-Month-Old Baby Requiring ₹16 Cr Life-Saving Injection
Amid the ongoing India's Got Latent row, beleaguered comedian Samay Raina was slammed online again after a video from one of his old stand-up comedy gigs resurfaced. In the video, he is seen allegedly mocking a 2-month-old child's life-threatening medical condition and the Rs 16 crore injection that is required to save the infant’s life.

The troubles for comedian Samay Raina are refusing to die down as netizens are now digging up his old videos and criticising him for his purported 'dark humour' amid the ongoing India's Got Latent row. On Monday, Samay was slammed by netizens after a video from one of his old stand-up comedy gigs surfaced online in which he is seen allegedly mocking a 2-month-old child's illness.
In the video, Samay can be heard narrating an incident involving a 2-month-old baby who has a life-threatening condition, and to save the baby, the parents must pay Rs 16 crore for an injection. Pointing at a woman in the audience, he then asks, "If you were that mother and you had Rs 16 crore in your bank account and a 2-montho-old kid, ek baar toh apne pati ko bolti na... Inflation is rising."
He also mentioned that he would thrash the child if he survived, grew up and said he wished to be a poet.
His joke in the old video did not sit well with netizens who criticised him on social media and accused him of making fun of a child who was battling a life-threatening disease.
"He is what people now call an ‘influencer’. That people are laughing along with him him as he uses a suffering two-month-old child as a prop for his ‘comedy’, shows the kind of influence he and other stand-ups have on those who seek humour in perversity (sic)," a user wrote on X, while another stated, "Sick and mentally ill people, including those who were laughing. If I were there, I would have shut it down (sic)."
This is not the first time that Samay has been pulled up for cracking jokes related to children. Another old video shows him talking about how he gave Rs 2000 to a poor kid, which led to a massive fight and the kid eventually got run over by a train. "Mere Rs 2000 poore vasool ho gaye," he said in the video, leaving the audience in splits.
India's Got Latent Case
Meanwhile, Samay has been summoned by the Maharashtra Cyber Cell on February 18 in connection with the India's Got Latent controversy. It all started after YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia appeared on Samay's show and asked a contestant, "Would you rather watch your parents have sex for the rest of your life, or would you join in once and stop it forever?"
The supposed joke did not go down well with netizens who slammed Samay, Ranveer and the others associated with India's Got Latent, accusing them of promoting vulgarity online.
