Mumbai: Two individuals—a man and a woman—made separate attempts to illegally enter Bollywood actor Salman Khan's seafacing residence, Galaxy Apartments, located in Bandra West. Both incidents occurred on May 20. The 59-year-old actor, who is facing a threat from the dreaded Lawrence Bishnoi gang, has Y + security and yet two breaches were made.
The woman has been identified as Isha Chhabra, 33, and was arrested by the police. The man, identified as Jitendra Kumar Singh, 23, was detained and later released after being served a notice by the Bandra police. The Metropolitan Magistrate Court in Bandra remanded Chhabra to police custody until May 23.
Investigations revealed that the woman is a struggling actress while the man is unemployed. Both claimed to be fans of the superstar.
According to police, Isha Chhabra arrived at Galaxy Apartments around 3:30 a.m. on May 20. She allegedly trespassed by illegally entering through the building's gate. Police officers deployed at the actor’s residence noticed her and stopped her. After questioning, she was detained, taken to the police station, and formally arrested following the registration of a case.
A police officer stated, “The woman claimed to be an actress who has worked in a South Indian film and a few shows. She currently resides on Carter Road. Her parents live in Uttar Pradesh.”
In a separate incident the same day, Jitendra Kumar Singh was spotted near Salman Khan’s residence. According to the FIR, he had first been seen at around 9:45 a.m., but was asked to leave by police officers deployed as part of the actor’s Y+ security cover. Reportedly angered by this, Singh smashed his mobile phone on the ground and argued with the police and security personnel.
Later that evening, at 7.15 pm, Singh allegedly entered the premises again, this time sneaking in from behind a car belonging to one of the actor’s neighbours at Galaxy Apartments. Despite his attempt, he was caught and handed over to the Bandra police for trespassing.
Singh reportedly told officers that he simply wanted to meet the actor. “The police were not letting me meet him, so I was trying to hide,” he told to police.
During the investigation, Singh revealed that he is from Dumardih in Durg, Chhattisgarh. A police officer said, “His father is the village chief (Sarpanch) in his hometown. The accused studied up to class 12 and is currently unemployed. He came to Mumbai as a tourist." The police said that he appeared to be a bit dim-witted.
The Bandra police registered two separate cases against the accused under Section 329 (1) (criminal trespass and house-trespass) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita on May 20.
This double security breach at Salman Khan’s residence on the same day has raised serious concerns, especially considering the multiple death threats the actor has received in recent years. Some months ago two motorcycle-borne persons even opened fire at Galaxy Apartments. Due to these threats, Khan has been provided Y+ security by the government.
Salman Khan has reportedly been on the hit list of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang for several years. The longstanding feud traces back to the 1998 Blackbuck Poaching Case, in which Salman was accused of killing a blackbuck—an animal considered sacred by the Bishnoi community. While Lawrence has demanded an apology from the actor, the latter's father and screenplay writer Salim has stated that his son will not apologise under any circumstance.

While Salman has consistently denied wrongdoing, Bishnoi gang has gone on record stating that his life’s goal is to kill the actor, whom he accuses of disrespecting the community by killing black bucks which are revered by it.
Following a series of threats and the murder of Salman’s close friend, veteran politician Baba Siddique, in Mumbai last year, security measures around the actor were further tightened. He has been advised to follow strict protocols for his own safety.
